Our Beliefs

The following paragraphs outline our core beliefs at Grace Evangelical:

  • The Bible, God’s written word, is God’s way of speaking to humanity. It is completely trustworthy in all it says and is the final authority in all things.
  • God exists in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – otherwise known as the ‘Trinity’. He alone created the world and has authority over everything in it.
  • Sin – the rejection of God’s authority – separates humanity from God. All of humanity has rejected God and thus all have sinned. Man is spiritually dead.
  • Man cannot reach God through his own effort: No amount of good works will make us right with God.
  • Salvation is only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Only through Jesus’ death on the cross and subsequent resurrection is it possible for sinful humanity to be reconciled to God.
  • All who respond by faith in Jesus Christ will experience new life today and spend eternity in heaven with God. Those who reject Jesus Christ as God’s salvation will live without God for eternity in hell.
  • Every believer has an obligation to display godliness in conduct and to use his or her gifts to serve God and others.
  • Jesus will one day personally return in glory.
  • We teach the doctrines of grace and adhere to the reformed faith as understood in the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. In regards to salvation, we believe in the sovereignty of God and the total responsibility of man.
